Off to French Polynesia

Around the middle of September we left Tucson and flew to LA and then on to Tahiti. This was sort of a retirement gift to myself and I had been looking forward to it for a year.
We spent our first night on the main island of Tahiti and got back on an interisland flight the next morning for the atoll of Rangoria. An atoll is what is formed when a coral reef grows around an island, then through the millenia, the island subsides and all that is left is the coral reef which has dry bits of land on it called motu's. Rangoria is one of the largest, with an inner lagoon 30 miles across at it's widest. Here's some pics flying in.
