Cholos Swim at Waimea

Yesterday was busy in a good way. Marianne and I did the HACC ride down to the North Shore, then split off from the group and rode to Waimea for the second race of the North shore swim series. It was a 1.2 mile course in Waimea bay. We met Jesse and Kristy there and Kristy and I did the race. All the best swimmers on the island come out for these races. I usually take about 31 or 32 minutes for this distance but not today. Who knows?

Here are the results. Check out the age of the Womans overall winner. Wow!

To celebrate the forth of July we rode with the HACC down to National Cemetery of the Pacific (Punchbowl) It was the largest turnout yet for a groupride. Afterwards we rolled down to Gordon Biersch in Wakiki and had lunch and beer. Jesse and John Sanner posed with Marianne for this picture I've titled "The Gimps"

Good friends, good food

Sunday night Marianne, Angela and I met our friend Spring at El Charo's downtown. It was good seeing her and catching up after so many years. Next morning we woke up at 3 am and got on the plane for home.

Tucson triathlon

Sunday was the Tucson Tri down at the U of A. My Nephew Christian kicked some butt and won his age group. My brother in law Tyler lent me his bike and I raced it also. Christian was the only one to bring home the hardware.

Friday a bunch of us went on a hike on the Pusch ridge trail. We hit the trailhead at 530 am to beat the heat. Always a nice view of Oro valley from up there.

Trip to Arizona

Marianne and I took a trip to Tucson last week to attend her parents 50th wedding anniversery and the yearly family reunion. It was a two for one trip because my Daughter and her boyfriend had just relocated to Tucson so she could start her new job. The wedding ceremony was on Friday and the reunion on Saturday. It was so nice seeing everyone and enjoying the city. Every time I go back there it grows on me more.

Building a Patio

My project last month was putting in a patio so we could enjoy the back yard more. It was a lot of work but still fun. I learned quite a bit also. Now we need some outdoor furniture. Dining al Fresco!
